It’s a simple as that.
Opposed to typical lifestyle shoots where you’re expected to make special arrangements, going out of your way to do something special.
You are bale to relax on the day in the knowledge that whatever happens, happens and it’s absolutely fine. We welcome toddler tantrums with open arms!
If your children need a snack during the shoot, say if we're outside then great.
It's a time to capture your family bonding, or even not, over a meal, or snack.
If you're at home cooking we can capture that story, your children helping with the ingredients, or laying that table or even relaxing oblivious to the hard work mum or dad is making in the kitchen.
It’s all part of real family life.
I’m a father of three and I know that we’re also, much like many other parents, not natural posers (well perhaps some are)!
But for those like us, it’s re-assuring to know all you need to be is yourself and your usual parent or individual self.
We create a beautiful record of your life, as it is today. How you all looked and felt, where you were and what you did. Your family changes, but these images shall not.
All our packages come with a high quality photography book of the day. The reason we do this is because, although digital files are handy, sometimes these images might soon get lost to a hard drive or social media feed.
Capturing your photographs in wonderfully renditioned books, that you can feel, smell and flick through provides a timeless way of accessing these now and in the future.
Not only will your children today, thank you for not forcing them to sit still, be quiet and pose but for future them, but it gives you something to pass down that shows the true connection and love you had for them.
A staged, posed procession of photographs does not invoke such feelings.
We do not shy away from your life's reality. Of you struggling to get that pram out of the car, with children tugging away at your coat for that attention they demand.
By capturing the imperfect and not capturing a contorted, false misrepresentation there is no need to feel like you have to hold yourself to a moment in time when everyone, for that split second, when the photographers flash went off, sat perfectly still, in their perfectly matching clothes, hair preened and to compare your every day selves to that moment.
We will show you that your every day is perfect, just the way is is. We love messy rooms, clothes flowing over the clothes bin, faces covered in lunch or knees covered in dirt and when you look back at these moments, you will too.
